History
IMTC-MEI, LLC is a combination of two previously independent companies which were brought under the umbrella of Crown Enterprises, Inc. IMTC was founded in 1983 as a contractor to the refining, petrochemical and utilities industries, based in the Gulf Coast region. Maintenance Enterprises, Inc. (MEI) was an industrial contractor founded in 1967 which specialized in emergency response work. The purpose of the merger was to enable the company to address the catastrophic reconstruction market and apply capital construction program/project management skills in North America and International locations.
From its headquarters in White Castle, IMTC-MEI provides emergency response construction services as well as traditional capital construction projects. IMTC-MEI provides domestic and international construction management and program management through the utilization of its multiple offices and extensive working staff.
Through application of a Four-Dimensional Operation based on the combination of IMTC's general construction expertise and MEI's emergency response experience gives IMTC-MEI a background that few other contractors in the industry can match. This has been demonstrated by successful programs from Tyler Texas to Aruba and Lithuania.
IMTC-MEI stands on the history and fact that there is really no one else in the industry that has its extensive background in catastrophic reconstruction. IMTC-MEI has completed 13 rebuilds, with each requiring intensive management of engineering deliverables, procurement, project controls and actual construction. This type of work requires a wide span of control and is not engineering and construction as usual. A dynamic vision, coupled with a unique execution philosophy, must be brought to bear early in each project.
IMTC-MEI is definitely not just a construction company — it is purely execution-driven and can do things that many other contractors cannot.
Key is the company's expertise in emergency response projects. ITMC-MEI approaches each assignment with its own "Flash Track Engineering and Construction Methodology," which was developed over the past 13 catastrophic rebuilds and emphasizes quick response and rapid execution. These qualities are essential for projects where significant damage has occurred to a plant and fast, decisive action must be taken.
Beyond the company's emergency response is the ability to plan, negotiate and support capital construction and project management programs. In 2007 IMTC-MEI opened offices in Slovakia, in 2008 in Ukraine and 2009 Georgia. These offices and their working teams have experiences with such entities as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). This creates programs with strong systems, multi-cultural perspectives, and effective in diverse environments and conditions.
